Only Edition. This eulogy honors the Sienese bookseller, publisher, scholar and Aldine collector V. Pazzini Carli (1707-69). It was delivered by his friend and personal physician, who presents Carli as a man of shrewd business sense and generous erudition. Caluri also describes Carli’s treatment-resistant oral cancer, death and autopsy. A good copy (a few stains, slight soiling to the top edge).
