Ad I-II: French (I) and Italian (II) puff pieces for distribution to buyers of Sibié’s miraculous proprietary purgative pills. A member of a Marseille printing dynasty, Sibié opens with a narrative of chronic illness, independent research and pharmaceutical discovery. His own testimonial is confirmed by dozens of other patients, who recount their successful cures. After dosage guidance, the pamphlets close with suggestions of diseases the pills might cure, from dropsy to diarrhea.
Sibié’s pill brochure also appeared in Spanish and English. In good condition (light foxing in the Italian version).
