[Tübingen, Johann Otmar not before 1500].

4to (193 x 140 mm.). [viii], [122]p.

19th-century half-vellum and stiff paper boards covered with fragments of an edition of Paulo di Castro (Venice 1509), red edges.

Only Edition of the published writings of the Württemberg court councilor, diplomat and preacher, who helped found Tübingen University in 1477. The longest of the three treatises is an admonitory conduct manual arranged according to the three questions that will be asked to all clergy on Judgment Day. The second treatise concerns what exceptions may be allowed during Lenten fasting. The final piece seeks common ground on Confession between the Mendicant orders and clergy. Johann Otmar introduced printing to Tübingen in late 1497, specializing in texts from university professors. In good condition, from the library of Belgian bibliophile Georges Petit de Grandvoir (1878-1956).
