Oblong 4to (215 x 290 mm.). MANUSCRIPT. [1 blank], [10], [1 blank]p. In a single hand, music in black ink on five-line brown ink staves, ten staves per page.

ORIGINAL ETCHED PAPER WRAPPERS printed in brown (G. Poggiali; lightly foxed, small pale stains), front cover decorated with HORN, VIOLIN AND CELLO PLAYERS, SINGERS, A CONDUCTOR AND SWANS, DOLPHINS AND MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, manuscript title in the central cartouche, sewn through the spine with thread and two green silk ribbons.

            These three light-hearted pieces for solo guitar may be among Gragnani’s earliest compositions. Each Divertimento has three movements. The central themes have up to six melodic variations, displaying the instrument’s versatility. I have not been able to verify if the pieces offered here correspond to his Tre divertimenti var. per chitarra (Ricordi 1808). In good condition (pale water stains to the blank inner corners).
