Undivided sheet of paper (341 x 421 mm.) PAINTED BLUE WITH EIGHT NEARLY IDENTICAL ILLUSTRATED ALPHABETS (141 x 81 mm.) PRINTED IN GOLD from a single woodblock. The individual alphabets suites were intended to be cut up and sold separately.

Each alphabet suite has a lower case Gothic alphabet in five lines, above an upper case Roman alphabet in four lines flanked by stars, leafy branches or azured blocks and numbers one to ten take a single line on the bottom. The upper left of each alphabet suite has — in order left to right — a bee hive or caduceus or sun or Christ Child. In excellent condition. Item #8420
