Contemporary gilt ruled red morocco, panels ruled, the arms of Jacques Auguste de Thou and his second wife in the center (Olivier 216,8), ruled spine with diagonal bands at the crown and base and de Thou’s cipher in six compartments (variant of Olivier 216,9), lettered title, his gilt taon above (not in Olivier), all edges gilt.     First Heinsius Edition and the second appearance in Greek (first 1557).     The title bears a five-line ms. presentation from Heinsius to de Thou. In fine condition, Soubise ms. shelf mark on the front cover 2.O.29, unidentified red and gold cipher bookticket, red morocco bookplate of Henri Bonasse.Hoffmann II: 585; Simoni, Books from the Low Countries M64.
